SUMMER CAMP PORTLAND 2010
Summer Camp was held at on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of September 2010. This was the second year that the course was held at Portland and as always it was a very good learning experience with a good atmosphere and lots of fun.



The Green Belt Ippon Trophy is open to all green belts in the Severn Area clubs and takes place during grading sessions. On the 18th July 2010 Jake Garland won it for the second time in just four months. Congratulations! J
JAPANESE MASTERS INTERNATIONAL COURSE 2010
The Japanese Masters Course was held on the weekend of 1st and 2nd of May 2010, which was hosted by Zenshin Dojo and held at The University of the West of England. Members of our club and others from the Uk were invited to attend, along with other clubs from seven other countries. The three Yutenkai Masters - Ariga Sensei, Koibuchi Sensei and Nakano Sensei are from Japan and were trained under Master Egami. It was a very memorable weekend with a lot of learning and a lot of fun, they were excellent teachers.

Jake also went up two grades by getting 2 blue tabs.

Craig Pearce and Ben Garland who both now have orange belt with 2 green
tabs.
Also Well Done to Ruben Noden who now has a red belt with 2 yellow tabs and Daniel Paxton also got another yellow
tab.
Bath Tiger Kai Christmas Party.
On the 20th December 2009 Bath Tiger Kai held their annual Christmas Party to which we were all invited.
The day as always was a lot of fun with many games and competitions.

August Gradings
On the Monday 11th August 2008 a novice grading took place at
Trowbridge Judo Club.
Caroline Calver from Severn Area Shotokai came to assess the children.
The following acheivements were obtained by:

Childrens Grading (20th July 2008)
Congratulation to Craig Pearce and Joel Pursey (below) who both received two yellow tabs each at the grading in Thornbury Leisure Centre on Sunday 20th July 2008.


Karate Day Course (Adult News)
On Sunday 29th of June we had an adult day course held in Trowbridge Judo Club. There was an opportunity for kyu grades to be assessed for grading (red- brown belt). The course was coordinated by Maria Marfleet, (5th Dan and technical director for Severn Area shotokai).

Children’s Karate Grading
On Wednesday 5th March 2008, the children’s grading took place in Holt village hall. This was the first grading for West Wiltshire Karate tigers.
The assessment was made by Caroline Calver 3rd Dan, who came from Severn Area Shotokai Karate–Do organisation to assess the children.
The children performed to a very high standard, with three obtaining two red tabs each and four who were awarded their red belt – a successful start for the club.
Congratulations to all the children pictured below and also a big thank you to Linda Smith (not in picture) for all her help during weekly training sessions.
